Christian Quarter
We have reached the largest part of the old city - Christian quarter. It takes up the whole western part of the old city.
At first, let's follow Jesus' foot steps from His prison to the place He was crucified and buried.
The Way Of Cross (Via Dolorosa).
Jesus has made His Way Of Cross through 9 station and let's learn about it.

Station I: In this place Jesus condemned to death.
It's located in the courtyard of El-Omary Madrasah (scool of Islamic studies).
Every Friday from this place exactly piligrims from all over the world follow the Via
Dolorosa to commemorate Jesus' pain and passion.

Station II: Here Jesus was made to bear His cross.
In this place stands the Chapel Of The Flagellation.

Station III: At this station fell under the weight of the cross for the first time.
In that place stood Byzantine chapel and a crusader church.
Now there stands the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate.

Station IV:
Jesus met His Mother at this station.
We could recall this event by the small Armenian oratory.

Station V: At this place Simon of Cyrene was made the bear the cross.
We could read  about this event in Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
We also can see that on the door of the Franciscan chapel in that place.

Station VI: In that place Veronica wiped Jesus' face.
The image of Jesus' face has remained on the cloth.
It's recalled by the Melchite chapel.

Station VII: At this station Jesus fell for a second time.
In that station stands the Franciscan chapel at the intersection that leads to the
                      Christian Quarter.

Station VIII: At this place all women of Jerusalem started to weep over Jesus.
Right here Jesus said these famous words:

"Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your
                        children..."

This station commemorated by the small cross on the wall of a Greek - Orthodox
                       monastery.

Station IX: On that station Jesus fell for a third time.
This event happened next to the Coptic Maonastery Of St. Anthony right behind the
apse of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
